AbstractThe purpose of this conference is : to provide definitions of water security and sustainable water allocation and management ; to show that there are very powerful ecnomically invisible and politically silent processes that enable water scarce political economies to achieve security and sustainability. Global process are emphasised and argued that hydro-centricity is dangerous. This presentation is divided in five parts : 1. Some theory, 2. Essential concepts (types of water : fresh water, soil water, virtual water, big water, small water, manufactured water), 3. The hydrocentric approach is dangerous, 4. Social and political processses and adaptation, 5. Conclusions. < br>
