AbstractGeographic boundaries of the Haouz of Marrakesh : Hills of Jbilet at the north; High Atlas at the south; drainage division between the Oued Tensift and the Oued Tessaout at the east. The western boundaries are not easy to define in strict geographic terms. The social boundaries of the central Haouz are defined by the city which dominates it - Marrakesh. The Central Haouz can be said to end with the irrigation basin of the Oued Nfis, flowing out of the High Atlas. Source : P.Pascon. 1986. Capitalism and Agriculture in the Haouz of Marrakesh.
